Hi Folks,
Every once in a while, I come across a company with an asset that makes me stop and take a second look.
For Starfighters Space (NYSE: FJET), it's the aircraft.
The company operates a commercial fleet of flight-ready F-104 supersonic jets from Kennedy Space Center.
These aircraft aren't there for show. Starfighters is developing them for high-speed testing, hypersonic research and eventually small-payload launch missions.
That's an unusual combination.
A “Wind Tunnel in the Sky”
One of the more interesting applications is hypersonic testing.
Developing high-speed aerospace technology eventually requires getting hardware out of the laboratory and into actual flight conditions.
FJET's approach is to use its supersonic aircraft as reusable test platforms.
The company calls it a “Wind Tunnel in the Sky.”
Instead of building an entirely new platform for every test, customers can potentially use FJET's existing aircraft to evaluate components and payloads in a real high-speed environment.
And with billions being directed toward hypersonic development, testing capacity is something I'm watching closely.
Then There's STARLAUNCH
FJET is also developing STARLAUNCH, an air-launch system aimed at smaller payloads and suborbital missions.
Management says its platform could eventually support more than 300 launches annually.
The idea isn't to compete directly with SpaceX or the other heavy-lift providers.
It's to address a different part of the market.
That distinction matters.
Starfighters has also worked with organizations including Lockheed Martin, GE Aerospace, Northrop Grumman and the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory.
What Needs to Happen Next
FJET is still an early-stage aerospace story.
Having the aircraft and infrastructure is one thing. Turning those assets into recurring commercial revenue is another.
That's what I'll be watching.
Progress on STARLAUNCH. More testing missions. Higher aircraft utilization. New contracts. And, ultimately, revenue.
If those pieces begin coming together, the market may start looking at FJET differently.
For now, I think the combination of space, defense and hypersonic testing makes this one worth following.
Add FJET to your watchlist.
To your success,

Sam Kremer
